| Eligibility |
| AWS mantra is to promote “Welders” with adequate experience and knowledge as “Welding inspectors”. So the society is flexible when it comes to the educational qualification. |

If you are in the welding profession with 3 to 5+ years of experience, then you qualify for this exam. |
|
High school Pass outs or Diploma holders or Engineering graduates all qualify for this certification if they have enough and relevant experience in this field and aspire to become an Inspector. |

Seminar Pattern |
|
All Seminar’s will be conducted in our own state of the art training & research division situated in our 12,000 sq.ft premises at Tambaram, Chennai. |
|
3 days of the seminar will be used to cover the (Part A) ” Fundamentals“ part of the examination that covers all the facets of AWS QC, 2007, Welding Process, Weld Joint Geometry and Welding Symbols,Document Governing Welding Inspection and Qualification, Metal Properties and Destructive Testing, Welding Metallurg, Weld and Base Metal Discontinuties, Visual Inspection and other NDE Methods and Symbols, Safety in Welding and Cutting. |
|
2 days will be used to cover the (Part B) “practical applications” part of the examination. This will expose you to actual visual inspection tools, gauges and weld replicas and further to the acceptability and rejection criteria of sample weldments based on the book of specification. |
|
2 days will be used to expose and refresh your skills incomprehending the welding code books (Part C) including qualification of welding procedure. (All candidates should bring their own book. API #1104/AWS- D.1.1/ASME)

One day will be totally dedicated to discussion & review session for part-A, B & C. |

Appropriate Course materials will be provided well-in advance during registration, to help you prepare for the exam. Seminar kit will be provided during the first day of seminar |

Lunch and refreshments will be provided during the seminar event. |

After completion of the seminar and 60 hours of course, completion certificate will be provided. |

| Upon completion of registration process, candidates can collect their copy of study materials and AWS QC1:2007 certification handbook. This will help you to start your preparations immediately. |

| Renewals |
The renewal process is part of your continued certification according to QC1:2007 The Validity of the certification is 3 years and CWIs can renew their status by applying in the prescribed applicaation format before the expiration date of
the certification.
If the renewals are not applied before expiration, the candidates lose their CWI status and will have to reappear for fresh certification.
